Network Engineer

JatApp is an IT product company that creates valuable high-tech products used daily by millions worldwide.

We are looking for a Network Engineer for the company’s largest product – a cross-platform VPN service. Our product helps at least 10 million users around the world to meet their needs in cyber protection. Our goal is to enter the top 5 best VPN services in the world.

Your responsibilities will be:

• Design, configure, monitor, and maintain bare metal networks, private clouds, and internal tools

• Server uptime support 24/7

• Contribute to Linux systems and manage their lifecycle

• Perform analysis for troubleshooting and incident response

• Identify, document, and automate repetitive or critical processes to lower the workload for the systems team

• Liaison with data center providers from around the globe to scale capacity or mitigate production issues

What you’ll need:

• 3+ years of experience in network engineering

• Experience with monitoring using Grafana, Prometheus, etc.

• Experience with security (SSL, cloud security, encryption, VPN)

• Deep knowledge of Linux systems (Ubuntu, performance tuning, bash, ansible)

• Knowledge of network concepts, tools, and technologies (VPN, proxy, iptables, iproute2)

• Knowledge and experience of DevOps tools (git / Gitlab)

• Knowledge of web servers & http/https protocols, Nginx

• Ability to work with different protocols and providers

• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and address complex technical challenges in real-time

• Attention to Detail: Ensuring that system changes and implementations are executed without errors

• Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying updated with the latest best practices and innovations in site reliability and broader IT disciplines

Will be a plus:

• Deep Understanding of VPN Protocols

• Knowledge of Networking Advanced Concepts: Knowledge of BGP, OSPF, and other concepts that can impact VPN performance and routing

• Geographical Load Balancing: Understanding how to balance VPN traffic across global data centers to provide optimal performance
