Backend Tech Lead (PHP)

JatApp is an IT product company that creates valuable high-tech products used daily by millions worldwide.

We are looking for a Backend Tech Lead (PHP) for the company’s largest product – a cross-platform VPN service. Our product helps at least 10 million users around the world to meet their needs in cyber protection. Our goal is to enter the top 5 best VPN services in the world.

Technology stack: PHP 7, framework Yii2, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Docker, lxcWeb, nginx, RabbitMQ.

Your responsibilities will be:

• Dedicate approximately 75% of your time to hands-on feature development

• Efficiently manage the organization and prioritization of the development backlog

• Lead the task estimation process and continuously enhance its accuracy

• Oversee the timely and quality delivery of the backend team's projects

• Prioritize and address technical debt within the backend team's projects

• Manage and support individual developers in their delivery and professional growth

• Cultivate a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and teamwork among the backend team members

• Supervise the backend team's engineering process, spanning from development to testing, deployment, and maintenance

• Facilitate the resolution of technical issues that arise between mobile, PC, web, and backend teams

• Ensure the creation of necessary documentation for knowledge sharing and facilitate seamless onboarding of new team members

• Uphold adherence to best practices, processes, and industry standards for software development, testing, and deployment within the backend team

• Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies and tools that have the potential to enhance backend performance, scalability, and reliability

What you’ll need:

• More than 5 years of experience with PHP development

• At least 2 years of experience as Tech Lead for developers

• Experience in mentoring, organization, and coordination of teamwork

• Experience working with large high-load projects that have been released

• Excellent skills in PHP 7, MySQL, Redis, Memcache, and MongoDB

• Good knowledge of the Yii2 framework, RabbitMQ

• Understanding the principles of mobile and web projects for a large audience of users

• Understanding of microservice and monolithic architectures, as well as desirable experience in high-loaded systems (Highload)

• Knowledge of working with the Linux command line and understanding of server technologies, including Nginx

• Experience in planning and managing development projects

• Ability to effectively communicate and interact with other team members and stakeholders

• Ability to make decisions based on data analysis and strategic thinking

• Experience in conducting code reviews and implementation of development best practices
